Easy Crocheted Evening Clutch

Yarn:  Chickadee Duo

Crochet Hook:  size E

Button

Directions:  

Body:  Chain 42.  Turn and skip one stitch.  *Single crochet across.  Chain 2 and turn.  Repeat from * until you have crocheted about 8”. 

Flap:  Decrease 1 stitch at beginning of every row. [Skip first stitch, then begin single crochet.]  Skip last stitch of every row. [End in next to last stitch, chain 2, turn and start next row.]  When you finish the row with only 6 stitches, turn, chain 4 and slip stitch to join on the end of the row to make a button loop.  Knot.   Leave tail, cut and weave ends in. 

Finishing:  Fold into an envelope, stitch up sides with leftover yarn.  Attach button for closure.  Make sure your button is the right size for your loop to fit over it and stay closed.
